About Firstar

It's in the Name

The material used in Firstar products has been named MST™ or Moisture-System-Transference™for its quick dry abilities and also references Bio-Sense Fit™ for the micro-fabric's ability to contour and form itself to your body's curves. Firstar products use BACT-OUT™ technology to increase the breathability of our material designs and ensure your garments maintain their fresh smell longer.

Scale of engineering

Firstar's MST™ Microfibre is an engineered filament thread that has been redesigned at the microscopic level to offer the very best in moisture-wicking properties. Firstar's microfibre material is made from fibrous strands less than one denier (one gram per 9000 meters and about 10 micrometers or 0.00039 inches in diameter).

Comfortable Performance

Firstar's microfibre fabrics are exceptionally soft, wrinkle-resistant and hold their shape very well. Microfibre performance apparel has become a very popular alternative to cotton apparel for athletic wear because microfibre material pulls moisture away from the body keeping the individual cool and dry. The filament/thread combinations and knitting processes used to create Firstar's performance materials have been created from the highest achievable standards of air-permeability and quick-drying performance.

Superior characteristics

Some nylon and poly-based materials' wicking actions can be enhanced by chemically treating them, but over time and with repeated washings (beginning with the very first time you wash it) the chemical treatment is severely reduced leaving you with a garment that has little if any quick-drying characteristics at all. By manufacturing our performance clothing with Firstar's advanced microfibre filament construction, there is no wicking chemical to wash or wear out. The microfibre fabric continues working for the lifetime of the garment.
