Ray Ferraro Drops By ND Bantam AAA Practice

Winners of Firstar Sports’ Up Your Game Facebook Contest Meet NHL Star/Get Prizes

 

The ND Bantam AAA team got a rare treat Monday night when former NHL star Ray Ferraro dropped by to present them with Firstar base-layer shirts won in an online contest. Defenseman Trevor Beaton entered the Facebook video competition last October, answering Firstar Sports’ question: “Tell Us How You UP YOUR GAME!” Trevor’s response got the most votes, with Brendan & Rylan Wilde of Surrey Minor Hockey coming in a close 2nd & 3rd.  

 “This is an amazing team that really has taken it to the next level,” says Pam Beaton, Registrar of ND Minor Hockey and Trevor’s mom. “They were at the bottom of Tier 1 last year and now are in 2nd place going into the playoffs. They were also invited to play in the Bantam AAA tournament in Medicine Hat – something no other North Delta team has done in the last ten years.”

Ray Ferraro is the Director of Hockey Relations at Firstar Sports, a locally owned and operated performance sports apparel company dedicated to supporting teams at the grassroots level. Firstar recently sponsored South Delta Minor Hockey’s annual “Party In Da House” – one of the few house hockey tournaments in Metro Vancouver. Firstar’s emphasis on Performance, Dedication and Respect supports not only the effort young athletes make in improving their game, but in giving back to their communities as well; something the Bantam AAA team has clearly demonstrated in the past. “The whole team wanted to give back to the community this Christmas,” says coach Tim Mills. “Our captains delivered full turkey dinners to a number of families who would have gone without. These young men at the age of 13 and 14 know that there are others in need and they know how fortunate they are in comparison.”
 

Going into the playoffs, the boys have one goal in mind: working on "upping their game" to take it all the way this year. Firstar Sports is proud to help them reach that goal.
